Art Update August 2015

August was an interesting month around here.  Aside from trying to get back into the swing of things we had a lot of unexpected unpleasantness.  Little things: car trouble, a bit of health trouble, a few doctor visits, a flash flood, gas leak, several appliances that broke, etc.  Nothing major, but when a lot of them combined and attacked together it was more difficult to deal with.  Oh well, we all do what we have to do, and I like to find the silver lining, and am so happy that we were able to address each situation and move past it.

In terms of art however, there are some amazing things happening.

One very important thing is this: Our grandpa, Valentin, is having an art exhibit in our local library.  It is fantastic! He has made two extra mosaics for the occasion, and the focus of the entire exhibit is Russian Folk and Fairy Tales.  He has many works on the subject and the librarian loved the idea.  I only have one photo of the time we were setting up, and will post more that I hopefully will take during the reception.

I also finished up my very first coloring book Nature Walk Through The Seasons: Take a walk through a beautiful forest or explore a wonderful summer garden. With a total of 15 pages his coloring book takes you through nature in all four seasons. Landscapes, flowers, butterflies and birds all live in this book.  It can be found in my Etsy Store. It was a lot of work but totally worth it.  Here are a few images that I have colored from it:

I also started on my next coloring book already! It is very exciting one, and will be something along the lines of “Finding Your Inner Goddess”.  I already have four pages, and working on fifth.  One of the pages I loved so much that I just had to turn it into a full scale piece of art.  I transferred it to a tan colored page and finished it in Prismacolor Pencils.

I am very happy with how it turned out, and cannot wait to share the coloring book with the world!

Of course, here are a few new coloring pages for you to check out:

One last thing is this piece of outdoor mosaic art I made.  It was quite the process, and I made a ton of mistakes.  You can read all about them HERE.
