We had an A-Maze-Ing time at the Sussex County Sunflower Maze in Augusta NJ. They are open only for a short little while in the late summer and fall. I can not tell you how happy I was that we made it! It is so beautiful that there aren’t enough words to describe it.

Even though fall is a busy time for us with learning, and regular activities like art and soccer, we did squeeze in a trip to the Liberty Hall Museum at Kean University. We were very pleasantly surprised at how much fun the trip turned out to be.

A friend recommended this place quite a few years back. She would take her family there to take some lovely family photos. Reeves-Reed Arboretum is very local to us, and there is no entrance fee. I wish I had gone there sooner. However, you need to find the exact address and directions, as the place blends in with the residences around the area. If I were just driving by, I wouldn’t think that there is anything there.

A while ago my husband and I were talking to another bike riding enthusiast and he highly recommended to check out Colonial Park in Somerset, NJ. He was telling us about the wonderful biking trails, and the lake, and paddle boats, and a great playground for kids, and a garden. When a friend that lives nearby there invited us to come out and check out the park during their annual Rose Festival, we couldn’t resist.

Every year I would tell myself that this is the year I would make it to Grounds For Sculpture with the kids. Every year I would get derailed, busy and distracted, and not make it there. Many of our friends have gone there over the years. Every one of them spoke highly of the place, telling me wonderful things, and what a great day it was there. Finally, we made it!
